LIPOSUCTION AT NOVA SURGERY CENTER

At Nova Surgery Center, we combine Tumescent Liposuction with Laser treatment to tighten the skin and remove fatty tissue. The procedure is performed in our surgical suite. However, general anesthesia is rarely required. The patient usually remains awake and experiences minimal discomfort during the treatment session. We use local (Tumescent) anesthesia by infusing a Lidocaine mixture into the fatty tissue. A Cool Laser is then used to liquefy some of the fat and to help tighten the surrounding skin. This differs from the traditional Liposuction.

Treatment times range between 2-3 hours. The infiltration of the tumescent and the harvesting of the fat are done through very tiny and cosmetic incisions. These are left open for drainage after the procedure. Since sutures are not used, no disfiguring scars develop at the incision sites after healing.

How effective are the results?

Results usually can be dramatic. You may notice it in reduced dress sizes and the way you fir in your clothes. Of course, individual results may vary but we guarantee our work.

 

Who are the best candidates?

Even though up to 10 pounds (22 kilos) of fat can be removed, best candidates are those people close to their Ideal Body Weight and have stubborn areas that are resistant to diet and exercise (BMI <35). If BMI is greater than 30, we may suggest our medically supervised Weight Management Program.

 

What is the Downtime/Recovery Period?

Most of our patients are able to return to work in 3 days. Because the Cool Laser tightens the skin and that Tumescent anesthesia is used, there is less bruising than the traditional Liposuction.

 

Swelling usually subsides in _____ days. You may sore, but most of our patients are comfortable on over-the-counter analgesics during the recovery period. You will be fitted with compression garments to wear for the first 2 weeks and advised to avoid any strenuous activity for 1-2 weeks.

When will I see results?

Depending on which areas are treated, you may notice an improvement of the skin and contour of your body shape after the swelling subsides. In general, just a few weeks after the procedure, there will be a noticeable change. Improvements will continue to get better with each passing week over the first 6 months.
